South Florida's Top Culinary Event Celebrates its Tenth Year on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach!
One of the hallmarks of South Florida's high season is its most celebrated culinary event: Savor the Avenue. Savor the Avenue was launched ten years ago by Delray & Boca Magazines with Delray Beach's Downtown Development Authority. Guests can experience an epic al fresco dinner table seating hundreds of people who dine on a scrumptious multicourse dinner in the middle of Downtown Delray Beach. The elegant dining table now stretches for five blocks down the middle of picturesque Atlantic Avenue. It seats more than 1,100 people, and there are typically 14-16 participating restaurants. There is a friendly competition among restaurants to outdo one another when it comes to table decor - and prizes are awarded for the top three winners of this effort.
The event also benefits a local charity; this year a portion of all tickets sold will benefit the Not One Homeless Hungry Student Delray Beach initiatve.
About the charity partner:
We believe every Delray Beach student has a potential worth nourishing. We are Living Hungry, the Delray Beach Homeless Task Force, and the Campaign for Grade Level Reading. Last year 175 students in Delray Beach schools identified as homeless endured up to 68-hours of hunger over the weekends. Operation Not One Homeless Hungry Student Delray Beach is our campaign to feed every homeless student in our city every weekend. We feed them to boost their grade level reading and to empower brighter futures.Together, we will declare "In Delray Beach, not one homeless student goes hungry."
Reservations are required and must be made directly through the participating Delray Beach restaurants starting February 1st.
This year, in addition to the judging panel, there will also be a People’s Choice Award granted to the restaurant with the best table décor. Be sure to vote for your favorite Savor the Avenue tablescape by uploading a picture of it to Facebook or Instagram, using #SavorPeoplesChoice and checking in to or tagging the restaurant name.
