Ghost Town Blues Band
Award-Winning, Chart-Topping Band Funky & Bluesy Groove
The award-winning, chart-topping blues band recently earned the 2016 “Best Newcomer Award” at a Canadian Blues Festival, and the “Independent Blues Award” for Best Contemporary Blues Song (“Hard Road to Hoe”). Ghost Town Blues Band have also received a handful of nominations for ‘Best Blues Band” over the past few years, and certainly deserve these accolades.
Not your grandpa’s blues band, their live show boasts a second-line horn entrance, cigar box guitars and electric push brooms, along with Allman Brothers-style jams and a trombone player. Horns, harmonies and homegrown instruments combined with an energetic, roots-rich set makes Ghost Town Blues Band one of the “must-see live blues bands today.”
Musicians Preston McEwen (drums), and Matt Karner (bass guitar) are the rhythm section behind multi-instrumentalist/frontman Matt Isbell, with raunchy guitar licks and raspy, whiskey and gravel-soaked vocals. With the addition of Suavo Jones, (trombone), Jeremy Powell (keys), and Taylor Orr (lead guitar), the grooves go from funky to bluesy. Ghost Town Blues Band has captivated audiences throughout the country…. so be sure to catch them while they’re in Delray Beach! “Ghost Town Blues Band shows what can happen when the past is distilled through young sensibilities, voices, and instruments. This is 21st century blues at its best.” -Living Blues Magazine
