Located on the east side of the Old School Square campus and fronting NE 2nd Avenue (Pineapple Grove) in the heart of downtown Delray Beach, the Park offers a large, open green space as well as a handful of playground equipment. On the north side is the Old School Square parking garage (operated by the City of Delray Beach) which has public restrooms attached. The Park is a great place to stop with the family for a little play time and even an ice cream in the Pineapple Grove district.
The Old School Square Park is home to the Delray Beach Green Market, a Saturday morning destination. Started in 1996 by the Community Redevelopment Agency, the Green Market has become one of the most popular and charming aspects of the “season” in Delray Beach (October - May). At the Green Market you’ll find more than 65 vendors featuring Palm Beach County farm-to-fork produce, just picked citrus and juice, farm fresh eggs, raw milk and butter, 100% grass-fed and finished (antibiotic and hormone free) Florida beef, poultry, pork and lamb, fragrant artisan baked goods, plenty of gluten free, vegan and sugar free products, fresh cut flowers, plants and other unique gourmet fare along with live musical entertainment each week.
The Delray Beach Craft Beer Fest, a hugely popular, annual fundraising event in May which benefits Old School Square Center for the Arts (the non-profit that programs and manages all aspects of the campus), takes place in the Park and the center grounds of the Old School Square campus.
The Old School Square campus is home to beautifully restored early 20th century school buildings which house the Cornell Art Museum (contemporary art), Crest Theatre (musicals, comedy, concerts, variety and lectures), Creative Arts School (art, photography, digital imaging and writing), and Fieldhouse (special events, craft shows, weddings and receptions). The Pavilion, located in the center grounds, is an outdoor entertainment venue known for free and ticked concerts and other events.
