Railroad parking lot construction begins Tuesday, October 3
Beginning Tuesday, October 3, the city of Delray Beach will begin landscaping and constructing a mechanical rail fence to reinforce safety and prevent trespassing across the railroad tracks in the downtown area.
Construction will take place in the N.E. 3rd Avenue parking lot and Railroad Avenue, the block between Atlantic Avenue and N.E.1st Street. The project is expected to take about two weeks to complete. Construction will not impact traffic during this time.
Following the completion of construction, Railroad Avenue will become a one- way, traveling north from Atlantic Avenue to N.E. 1st Street. N.E. 3rd Avenue will remain a two-way road. The N.E. 3rd Avenue parking lot will be reconfigured to include 11 golf cart spaces (2 six-passenger and 9 four-passenger) as well as 12 parallel parking spaces. Accessible and motorcycle parking will remain the same.
We thank you in advance for your patience during this construction project.
