You're invited to the next event at the Summertime Heritage Lecture Series hosted by the Delray Beach Historical Society!

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., the Delray Beach Historical Society welcomes historian, FAU professor, and author Dr. Evan Bennett for a fascinating talk, “The Future of Florida’s Coasts: What We Can Learn from the Past.”

Their beautiful campus is located at 3 Northeast First Street in Delray Beach. There’s plenty of parking just across the street in the Old School Square Parking Garage.

Dr. Bennett will take you on a journey through 2,000 years of Florida coastal history and show how people have interacted with the shoreline through time. He’ll also help you understand the big challenges we’re facing today, like development, pollution, and sea level rise, all through the lens of the past.

The Historical Society be serving light refreshments, and there will be time to mingle and chat after the lecture.

Space is limited and this one will fill up fast, so make sure to reserve your spot early!
