blanco + 1 opens today, and is on view through August 28th. Reception to celebrate during Art Walk on August 2nd, 6-9pm Free Admission. The exhibition features 29 works selected from an open call for art (with over 100 pieces submitted!) and showcases interpretations of the theme “blanco + 1”, or white plus one color or element. It’s the 2nd week of the month, which means tomorrow is Art Crew. Art Crew covers everything from current art happenings, educational resources, peer critiques/feedback, and discussions about pricing, workshops, etc. All levels and art forms welcome. FYI you may come to the group at any time during the designated hours; don’t worry if you can’t get here until after work you are welcome! Arts Warehouse presents a selection of works from “The Modernism Project” by Kim Rae Taylor in the Back Room Gallery thru July 31st. Meet Kim Rae Taylor during the July Art Walk reception TONIGHT! Taylor painted a series of portraits documenting the female artists, writers, poets, performers, and art patrons of all types who helped shape Modernism. Women were an integral part of the avant-garde during the early decades of the twentieth century, making significant contributions to modern art and literature. (An accompanying Artist Talk will be on July 25th 6:30-7:30pm. Free admission, but RSVP is requested. Link in bio!)
