Description
Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County (SPBC) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that works to provide affordable homeownership opportunities for hardworking and deserving families in the cities of Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, and Boca Raton, Florida. We build homes in partnership with families who demonstrate a need for housing and a willingness to work with us to purchase a home of their own. With the help of our generous supporters and volunteers, since our establishment in 1991 we have empowered over 200 families in our community to achieve their dream of owning a new home or staying in a home they already own by using our rehabilitation services.

An exciting highlight of today’s Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Partner Build was the participation of Florida Atlantic University’s former student athlete star Running Back, Gerald Hearns, who helped bring the Owls to a stadium cheering victory in the 2017 Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Build.

Thank you to the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl and its Executive Director Doug Mosley (who is also a Habitat for Humanity SPBC Board Member) for bringing out Bowl Partners Crocker Partners, GL Homes and Tire Kingdom this morning to help give a hand up, not hand out to a Habitat Partner Family. It was wonderful to have more than 40 executives and their employees onsite raising hammers and wielding power tools in carpentry work to install window boxes and do a wide range of interior finishings. It was great to have 2017 Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Champion FAU Athletics Running Back Gerald Hearns — who has a history of supporting Habitat for Humanity — there to cheer on and work alongside the Bowl’s Partner Builders.

Calling all students 16 years and up! Here's your Summer Student Volunteering Guide Volunteering is a great way to gain personal and professional experience while making positive changes in your community. Habitat's vast array of volunteer options provide opportunities for students to get involved and develop technical skills and gain practical experience not taught in the classroom. Volunteering creates lasting impacts on the health and well-being of communities, and betters the lives of all involved—including the volunteer. You are invited for Habitat for Humanity's Summer Volunteering Programs which help you earn valuable community service hours and real skills in the process. Did you know that Habitat offers Corporate Team Building Sponsorships? Here's a look at visionary business leaders in our community, BBX Capital Corporation, Bluegreen Vacations and The Altman Companies who brought their 3 companies together for a new kind of team building. Being outside of the office in a rewarding hands-on "corporate social responsibility" experience brings everyone together. The cameraderie and results of a build day are extremely rewarding. We appreciate the generosity of funds and all that you do to help build a stronger community.
