Placemaking
In 2004, the City of Delray Beach created the Clean & Safe Committee in response to awareness that the downtown has become a thriving and populated area with increased challenges to public safety, litter and trash control and maintenance. The committee is comprised of the Joint Venture, Community Improvement, the Police Department and Code Enforcement. Goals and objectives for the Clean & Safe Initiative were established at a Downtown Development Authority workshop in May of 2004.
