November 30th, 2017 – 100 ft Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Start the holiday season off in Delray Beach! Santa will light the brand new 100 ft. Christmas Tree at 7:15pm. Join us at the Christmas Tree's new home in Old School Square Park (just steps from its previous location) from 5-9pm! Local school performances on the stage at the Pavilion. Activities include kids crafts, carousel rides & “ice-skating”! Atlantic Avenue will be closed from Swinton until SE 4th Avenue. Learn more at:

December 1 - 31, 2017 - Visit the 100ft Christmas Tree daily from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.* 

*On Christmas Day & New Year’s Day visit the tree from 1 p.m. - 9 p.m.

About the 100ft. Christmas Tree:

One of the best trees in the USA - For more than 20 years, Delray residents and visitors alike have marveled at our Famous 100 Ft Christmas Tree. In 2016 it was named by Travel & Leisure the best Tree in the state of Florida, right up there with the trees at Rockefeller Center and the White House. Building the Tree is a month-long community event that brings together people of all ages and all walks of life.  The Tree is open every day from the Tree Lighting on November 30th through January 1st from 10am-9pm. The most frequently asked question is “Is it real?”!   Visitors can walk through the 100ft. Christmas Tree and see the different scenes that include, a reindeer barn, Santa’s Workshop, Twas the Night before Christmas house and the kid’s favorite, the Train House!

November 30 - December 31, 2017: Downtown Holiday Window Decorating Contest 

The Downtown Merchant & Business Association and the Delray Beach DDA are hosting a Holiday Window Decorating Contest, and businesses downtown are creating festive displays in their windows and throughout their stores. Be sure to see them all beginning November 30 (for the 100 ft Christmas Tree Lighting). Winners will be announced on December 14 for Most Creative, Most Festive, Most Delray, Best Overall and for the first time ever there will be a PEOPLE'S CHOICE Award! Vote by sharing a photo of your favorite holiday window display on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #DelrayHoliday and tagging the business in your post!  Experience the magic of the season throughout the month of December in Downtown Delray Beach!

December 1-23rd – Visit with Santa in his Key West Style house next to the 100ft. Christmas Tree. Santa is available for photos December 1-23 on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 5-9pm.

December 2, 9, 16, 19, 20, 21 – Cookie Cruises with Santa – Ahoy! Join Santa for a once in a lifetime opportunity to cruise with him on the Intracoastal Waterway.  Enjoy our Cookie Cruise aboard the Lady Atlantic with the Jolly Old Elf himself! $25. Reservations Required: 561-243-0686

December 2 - Carols by Candlelight - 7-8:30pm. $15. The Pavilion at Old School Square invites you to get into the holiday spirit with a concert experience that will become a community tradition, supporting local children’s programs. Young, local performers will open the festivities.  Then national act headliners, Andy Childs (the popular host of many Garlic Festivals) and John ford Coley (of England Dan and John Ford Coley fame) will get the holiday party rolling! Our host band, the amazing Little River Band will close out the evening. Popular and beloved holiday songs will be mixed with hit songs throughout the night! December 2nd & 3rd - Beachside Holiday Stroll - 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. From the intracoastal to the Atlantic Ocean, customers can sip & shop their way along Atlantic Avenue and A1A and explore the Beachside Businesses of Downtown Delray Beach. *Hours may vary by participating merchant.

December 7th - 5:30pm-7:30pm: The Delray Beach Historical Society presents the 4th Annual 'Twas the Night Before Christmas Storytelling Night at Cason Cottage. For the young and young at heart, we invite you to gather around our Christmas tree for old fashioned carols, a bit of history and the reading of the classic holiday tale by the DBHS elves. Surprise visit from Santa Claus. Refreshments and gifts for the children. Donations encouraged. 561.274-9578. 

December 9th – Delray Beach Holiday Parade –Parade spans Atlantic Avenue from east of the bridge to SW 5th Avenue!

December 12th – Menorah Lighting - Lighting of the first candle of the Menorah on the grounds of Old School Square. 6 p.m. Old School Square, 51 N Swinton Ave., Delray Beach. 561-278-0424 or

December 16th – Screen on the Green - Woo Creative proudly presents a FREE, holiday themed movie night shown on a huge, four-story screen at Old School Square Pavilion in Delray Beach. Our featured holiday movies will be Elf and a classic holiday movie (TBD).  BYO: BLANKETS, LAWN CHAIRS, SNACKS & DRINKS. Please bring a toy to donate to the The Milagro Center.

December 31st – Delray Beach New Year’s Eve Family Celebration - Delray Beach will ring in the New Year on December 31st with a family friendly event from 5-9pm on the grounds of Old School Square.  Free activities include: kid’s craft activities, face-painting, Celebration Crowns, Resolution wall, vintage game room, live entertainment and DJ, outdoor family games and more! The Carousel, Mini-Golf and Ice Skating will be available for $3.  Food trucks will be on site.  The fireworks finale will launch from the Old School Square Parking Garage at 9pm.
