FINE ART STUDIOS: JANET SIEGEL ROGERS & PHOEBE DEAN | 336 NE 3rd Ave
Janet Siegel Rogers is an internationally recognized artist whose works appear in museums and other important collections. Locally, her paintings are in the collections of the Boca Raton Museum of Art, Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, and the Hollywood Art & Culture Center.
She is known for her paintings that express luminous color. Mrs. Rogers is a consultant for the College Board giving Advanced placement Studio Art workshops to art educators. As an artist/educator, she has taught at all levels from Kindergarten to graduate studies.
The objective of Mrs. Rogers' work is to explore and experiment with color interaction. To do this, an oil and wax process is used in a unique manner. Through this technique, the works evoke a depth of field with a translucent quality that changes as the viewer's eye moves and/or as the light source differs. The overall effect of this process gives an illusion of color and emotion as the environment and the viewer interact with the paintings. Janet is currently preparing for a museum show in 2018.
