SUSTAIN PLACEMAKING
DOWNTOWN SHOPABILITY STUDY - IMPLEMENTATION PAVER PROJECT
The DDA commissioned a shopability study by leading urban retail planning The downtown Paver Project launched in August
consultant Robert Gibbs of the Gibbs Planning Group that was completed in 2019. The DDA advocated for this program
February 2018. Since then the City, the DDA, and merchants have worked based on the Shopability study. The City fixed

• Recommended and final approval received: 10-15 changes to the the timing of the project which occurred
downtown Land Development Regulations Monday – Thursday from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m.
• Cigarette Butlers installed
• Repaired buckling paver sidewalks

• Pressure spraying of the sidewalks in the public areas
• Tree trimming
