Our Mission

The mission of the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority is to grow, strengthen, and enhance the economic vitality of Downtown Delray Beach.

What is the DDA? The Story Behind Downtown Delray's Success

The Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) was established in 1971 by downtown business owners seeking a stronger voice at City Hall. Created under Florida State Statute (House Bill 1250, later codified as HB 2003-314), the DDA is funded by a special tax levied on properties within the downtown district.

Governed by a 7-member board of property owners, business owners, and residents, the DDA is guided by strategic policy direction and implemented by a team led by the executive director, working to ensure Downtown Delray remains vibrant, thriving, and economically strong.
