Biking
Biking around downtown Delray Beach — especially around the beach, down Atlantic Avenue and in nearby neighborhoods — is pretty easy and enjoyable. The terrain is flat, much of the area is bike and pedestrian-friendly, and there are bike lanes, wide sidewalks, and plenty of places to stop (shops, cafés, the beach, art districts).

If you want to rent a bike or e-bike while you’re visiting, a top choice is Richwagen's Bike & Sport. They’re a long-standing, family-owned shop (serving the community for 65+ years) offering everything from beach-cruisers and kids’ bikes to high-performance and electric bikes for rent or sale.
At Richwagen’s you can rent beach-cruisers (ideal if you just want a slow, scenic ride through downtown or along the beach) — or go for electric bikes, which make it effortless to cover more ground, ride the coastal route on A1A, and visit farther-reaching parts of Delray or nearby towns.
Because everything in downtown Delray (restaurants, shops, the beach, art district) is fairly close together, biking really is one of the simplest, most relaxed ways to get around — it’s often faster and more convenient than driving or finding parking.

Whether you need assistance finding a location, feel uncomfortable, or just want extra peace of mind, our Safety Ambassadors are only a call away.
