Step through the doors of The Blue Anchor and you are not just walking into a pub. You are stepping into a piece of London history. Originally built in the 1840s near Fleet Street, this authentic British bar was dismantled and shipped, piece by piece, to the U.S., eventually reopening on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach in 1996. Along with its rich wood interior and storied façade, legend says The Blue Anchor also brought one very loyal resident, the spirit of Bertha Starkey. Her tale, equal parts romance, scandal, and tragedy, has made The Blue Anchor one of Florida’s most famously haunted pubs, with late-night footsteps, flickering candles, and the occasional wail still reported after closing.
Today, The Blue Anchor is where old-world charm meets Delray’s easygoing energy. Join us for perfectly poured imperial pints, classic pub fare, happy hour seven days a week, and a lively calendar of poker nights, trivia, and nonstop Premier League and Champions League football. If the match is on, we are open. Whether you come for the food, the games, the ghosts, or all three, Mark and Peggy Snyder welcome you to your new favorite haunt.
