Details
The Delray Wreck, also known as the S.S. Inchulva, is one of South Florida’s most popular dive sites—located just 150 yards offshore at the south end of Delray’s Municipal Beach in about 25 feet of water, directly off the beach from the Seagate Beach Club.
The 386-foot British steamship wrecked during a fierce hurricane on September 11, 1903, and today its remains rest in five scattered sections along the ocean floor. The site is rich with history and marine life, making it a favorite spot for snorkelers and divers alike. A historic marker near the beach commemorates the shipwreck and the bravery of the surviving crew who found refuge in Delray Beach after the storm.
