Chapter 07: LDRs and Why They Matter
Understanding Local Development Regulations (LDRs) in Downtown Delray Beach
Growth and preservation go hand in hand. Land Development Regulations (LDRs) are the city’s rules that guide how land and buildings are used so downtown remains safe, attractive, and functional.
What Are LDRs?
LDRs cover:
- Property use (residential, commercial, mixed-use)
- Building height, density, and setbacks
- Architectural style and signage
- Landscaping and parking
- Sidewalk cafés and outdoor uses
- Historic preservation standards
These standards keep downtown consistent, walkable, and welcoming.
Why LDRs Matter for Business Owners
